Chapter Eight
Julius
I drove through the city, making a few pit stops to check on a few business investments, but I couldn’t help but to think about Sky in the process. After our lil spat a few weeks ago, I had been giving her ass the cold shoulder so it made me happy to know that she was actually still showing some type of interest in ah nigga.
Sky had been calling me for about two weeks straight, leaving messages on my voicemail, texting me constantly, and even going as far as doing pop-up visits, hoping to catch me at home, I guess.
I could always tell when she’d been there because even though I had been keeping my distance from her, she still made sure that I was taken care of. She still came over to clean and do my laundry during the week, she would always cook to make sure that I would have something to eat when I got home, and the dead giveaway was that the house would always smell of her favorite perfume, Chance by Chanel.
Some may think that I was being petty, but I’d like to think that I was just protecting my heart. When I first got with Sky, she was fresh out of a relationship and I know that sometimes when you’ve been dealing with someone for so long, even when it’s over, it’s not really over, if ya know what I mean. That’s why when she mentioned that she was pregnant, it kind of threw me for a loop. The first thing I wanted to know after finding out how far along she was, is one, why in the hell did she wait so long to tell me if she knew that I was the baby’s father and two, if there a possibility that this could be dude’s baby?
I didn’t want shit to come off like I didn’t trust her, but that little comment she’d made still had me feeling some type of way. It had damn sho’ shifted the momentum that night, and lately, it’s been on my mind real heavy. I’d even reached out to Peanut and asked him to put his ears and eyes to the street to see if she was still dealing with dude.
Now according to my calculations and how far she says that she is, I knew that the baby should be mine, and based on that, I was gonna do what I have to do to be there for the both of them. At least until I had proof telling me otherwise; because like I said, you can never be too sure. But in an effort to get back on track, I was just gonna call her later on. You know, see where we were gonna go from here, because ah nigga can’t even front, I been missing her like crazy, and the fact that she hadn’t given up made me want her around that much more.
~~~
I pulled up in Raye’s driveway and was glad to see that Aston’s car wasn’t there.
